Natural Hair Growth Benefits

⇒ Avocado and Flax Seeds provide essential Omega 3 & 6 fatty acids that have been shown to increase hair density. (Learn how Omegas help regrow hair.)

⇒ Blueberries are rich in antioxidants which play an important role in cell repair and have been shown to move from the resting phase into the growth phase. (Learn how here!)

⇒ Ground Flax Seeds and leafy greens (especially spinach, swiss chard) contain zinc, an important nutrient that has been clinically shown to promote hair growth. I recommend ground flaxseeds over flax oil, if you don’t mind the texture you will be rewarded with nutritional benefits!

⇒ Gelatinized Maca balances hormones by healing the endocrine system. Balanced hormones support natural hair growth! (Learn how gelatinized maca helps regrow hair.)

⇒ Plant or Whey protein provides the building blocks for hair growth.

  1. Hi Cassey!
What do you think about taking protein power reguraly? Is it good or bad for our hair? I always had imporession that protein supplements are just for people who tend to visit gym frequently, but guess I was wrong, proteina are required to build the hair, nails, etc. Which one do you suggest? I suffer from serious hair loss and I can not afford myself anymore methods that are not working, I have no more room to experiment, unfortunatelly, every single hair is important in my case.

    Thank you!

    • Hello! Yes, I recommend taking protein powder daily. I also like to use hydrolyzed beef collagen as a easy source of protein.
Just like you said, our bodies require ample protein to constantly rebuild our muscles, nails, and of course hair! If your hair loss is related to Polycystic Ovary Syndrome, make sure that 40% of your calories come from protein. Here is a protein calculator to give you a general idea of what your body needs: http://www.calculator.net/protein-calculator.html. (Aim for the upper end of the suggested range!)
Protein made THE BIGGEST difference in my hair growth. Be sure to keep track of how many grams you’re eating per day, I was surprised at how little I was eating compared to what my body needs!
